- Find a well ventilated spot to work in and cover nearby items with drop cloths to protect them from paint splatters.
- Sand each of the letter surfaces lightly using 220-grit sandpaper. Always sand in the direction of the grain.
- Remove sanding dust by lightly dragging the cloth across the surface.
- Apply Rust-Oleum® Ultra Cover 2X White Primer to each of the wooden letters. Hold the paint can 20-30 cm from the surface. Press the spray button and begin covering the surface in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke.
- Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. For best results, apply multiple light coats versus one heavy coat.
- Apply topcoat within one hour or after 24 hours.
- Once dry, repeat steps and apply Rust-Oleum® Ultra Cover 2X Gloss Spray in Candy Pink (or your choice of colour) to the letters “L,” “V,” and “E.” Allow to dry for 2 hours.
- Apply five coats of Rust-Oleum® Specialty Glitter in Silver (or your choice of colour) to the letter “O.” Hold the paint can 30-35 cm from the surface. Press the spray button and begin covering the surface in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Allow to dry for 2 hours.
- Once fully dry, apply the clear glitter sealer. Allow to dry for 1-2 hours.
- Using super glue, glue the letter “L” to the letter “V” and glue the letter “O” to the letter “E.”
- Display the festive Valentine’s Day décor in a special place in your home.
